Dear Friends: Greetings in Jesus’ mighty name! I live in Florida so I have been subjected to hundreds of “stories” about the FL. Representative who resigned under accusations of sexual predation and checked himself into a “rehab center” to hide from the truth. Former Rep. Foley has admitted he is a “gay” man. The media bias (because Foley is a Republican) is obvious but not the important thing in this controversy. The important thing is he is a “gay” man! Before Foley was caught in his predation he never admitted his sexual orientation, but his outlandish hate of everything Christian or pro-life should have been a clue. Foley is a pro-death to the core, Republican. The Democrats do not have a patent on pro-death! He blames his problem on abuse. That doesn’t help the “gays are born that way” argument much. Please do not think I am “homophobic.” I am not—I am Dei-phobic. I fear God! I feel sorry for individuals caught up in the sin of homosexual acts. I desire that they be told the truth in love. I am writing about this mess because I see some very sad after shocks from the Foley scandal. Because many pro-life Christians placed their trust in the Republican party, they are so discouraged they intend to “skip” voting this year. This is so wrong! It is wrong because we should never place our trust in a political party—any party!! It is not the job of a political party to end abortion. It is the church’s job and we are the church. Our trust needs to be in the King of kings who has the ability to equip us for this battle. We must change hearts. However, it is the duty of a political party to be pro-life in their platform and demand that anyone running on their “ticket” be pro-life. We need to hold their (all parties) feet to the fire on this. It is also wrong because good, God fearing, people may not vote in an election that is very important for the fate of our nation. God does judge nations and we must turn from our wicked ways. Elected representatives are the way we do that nationally. If every God fearing person exercised his or her privilege and duty to vote and only voted for those persons who would represent their views drastic changes in our nation would take place. (Remember, the polls show that the majority of people in the U.S are pro-life) Then why can’t we elect pro-life candidates?- Because we don’t vote—particularly in off year elections! Political parties need to know we will not vote for pro-death candidates no mater what party they are from! Pro-life candidates throughout our nation are subjects of relentless negative campaign ads. It would be easy to stay home on election day but we must not! I am a person who constantly tells you the battle must be fought within the hearts of people so why am I talking about elections? - Because God judges nations! When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Proverbs 29:2 KJV I do not mean that elections are the only battles—they are just one—only once a year! This is not hard. We are blessed with a system of government that allows us, (you and me) to choose who will represent us and make the laws of this land. It is our duty to find out what candidates support the protection of innocent life and vote for them. We must sort through all the ads for the truth and vote only for candidates that support life. Thousands of lives are at risk—unborn babies and disabled persons like Terry Schiavo. We cannot vote for any candidate—even a dog catcher who is not pro-life. And we cannot use the difficulty of discerning the truth about candidates as an excuse to just “stay home.” One way of finding out the truth of a candidate is to search the web (if you have that capability) by putting into a search engine like www.google.com or www.ask.com the name of the candidate and the word pro-life. Everything written about that candidate will be listed and you can read and discern. I know this is extra work but it is so important. I truly believe we will over turn Roe v. Wade in the foreseeable future. If we replace one more Supreme Court liberal judge with a conservative judg, Roe will fall by it’s own internal rot. The judge does not even have to be pro-life, just honest and conservative, because Roe v. Wade is bad law! When this happens abortion will still be legal in almost all states. Then, who you elect to your state government will determine if abortion will be legal in your state. Also who you send to Washington as your Senator will determine if a conservative judge will be confirmed. A president can only appoint—the Senate must confirm! Who you elect to your local school board will determine if Planned Parenthood will be allowed into your schools. Off year elections are extremely important. Please do not fail to vote. If you feel you may not be able to get to the voting place—call the board of elections and request an absentee ballot.
